On November 25, 2019, the Distracted Driving Bill was signed into law, which, effective February 23, 2020, will ban the use of hand-held electronic devices while operating a vehicle.

This law aims to lower the rate of distracted driving and make our streets in Needham, Dover, Medfield, and across the Commonwealth a safer place.

Transportation safety is a concern in our community and with this law, we hope to ensure that the terrible crashes caused by distracted driving are fewer and further between.

Thank you to my colleagues in the House and Senate on the conference committee for their tireless work this year to get this bill onto the Governor’s desk.
